Reveling in Rhythms: Blu Jazz Masterclass and Free Black! Concert Unite Akron's Youth and Music

A harmonious fusion of talent and learning swept through the heart of Akron as the Highland Universal Gathering Place (HÜG Place) hosted a transformative day of music education and an electrifying evening concert. On the morning of Wednesday, July 12, 2023, the Urban League's summer camp participants were treated to an unforgettable experience: a Blu Jazz Masterclass led by the esteemed director of the Kent State Jazz program, an accomplished jazz recording artist, and a remarkable saxophonist, featuring the sensational hip-hop duo, Free Black!. The event was in proud collaboration with the Akron Urban League, reinforcing our commitment to intentional engagement with Akron's vibrant black community.
